A break in the storm throws light across the land, illuminating the open paddocks and trees beneath a heavy, unsettled sky. The dark clouds carry weight and movement, while the water below catches fragments of blue and silver, reflecting the changing light.
The landscape feels caught between weather systems — shadow and brightness moving across the same ground. Tall trees anchor the scene, their forms standing against the shifting sky as the country opens out beyond them.
There is a sense of quiet tension in the painting: the stillness of the land beneath a sky that suggests something is about to change.
